(born July 24, 1936) is an Filipino-American martial arts instructor from California who is best-known as a student of the late Bruce Lee and authority on Jeet Kune Do Concepts.
Dan Inosanto teaches The Art and Philosophy of Jeet Kune Do, Filipino martial arts, Shoot wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Silat, mixed martial arts and other arts at his Marina del Rey, California school, the Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts. He received a shodan from and was an instructor for Ed Parker in American KenpoKarate before becoming a student of Bruce Lee. Inosanto is one of three people allowed by Bruce Lee to teach his Martial Arts system (Taky Kimura and James Yimm Lee being the other two), and the only one to be given Instructorship in Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do of the third level. (Pittsburgh, October1960 - in activity) is a martial artist, famous for creating the PFS (Progressive Fighting System).
In the age of 7 years became interested in the martial arts. In the age of 10 years he hard trains taekwondo, receiving the belt black in the age of 14 years. In the years following is trained in many disciplines, among them kempo, several styles of Kung Fu and Escrima, till coming to the Jeet Kune Do (JKD) de Lee Jun Fan, under the guide of the own si-fu Lee's most famous student, Dan Inosanto. In the 1988 receives the degree of Senior Full Instructor from si-fu Inosanto, and begins to teach his version of JKD, under the name of PFS.
